Our Story

Sometimes the journey is a bit longer than expected, but when you meet the right person it all seems worth the wait. We had our first date in San Francisco on February 18th, 2015 and have spent most of our time together ever since. The first few dates were met the with normal nervous jitters, but also with a calm of being in each others' presence and tangible excitement of sharing and learning more about each other. I think we both knew it was something special when within the first month Danielle invited Eric to one of her closest friend’s wedding here in San Francisco and Eric created and shipped off a care package to surprise Danielle at her hotel in Nepal where she was working for several weeks. Many weekend road trips together have followed including 4th of July in Lassen National Park and a week-long journey to Portland, Oregon. Long before the actual engagement on Christmas Day, we knew this was going to be forever. And suddenly the journey that led us to each other, however long and twisted it might have been, all made sense…

The Weekend Schedule

We can’t wait to spend Saturday evening with you! In addition, we will have two other optional gatherings – join what you can!

Friday, May 6th: Stop by for Welcome Drinks on Friday evening at Cellar Door (3131 Fillmore Street) between 7:30 to 9:30pm.

Saturday, May 7th: The Main Event! The Ceremony and Reception will both take place at the Golden Gate Club in the Presidio.

Sunday, May 8th: Happy Mother’s Day! If the weather is nice, we will be hanging out with our families at the Presidio “Off the Grid” picnic from 12:30pm – 2:30pm enjoying whatever treats the food trucks have lined up that day. Join us on the Presidio Main Post Lawn if you are still in town and not out celebrating all those great moms! Kids are very much welcome to join this part of the weekend!! (The MUNI 43 bus route drops off close to there and you can pick it up at Lombard and Fillmore.)

Out-of-Town Guest Information

HOW TO GET AROUND

Unless you are planning to take day trips or move around a lot while in San Francisco, we don’t think a car is required. Taxis/Uber make it easy to get to all wedding locations and will likely be cheaper than car rental + parking. Buses are $2.25 (no change given!) for 90 minutes (keep your transfer!). For getting from the airport, you can also check out GO Lorrie’s Airport Shuttle or SuperShuttle. Google Maps works pretty well for navigating around the city via bus or you can use 511 SF.

WHERE TO STAY

We recommend you book your accommodations as soon as possible. May is a popular time to come to San Francisco. All wedding located activities will take place at the north end of the city, with the wedding on Saturday and picnic on Sunday (weather permitting) in the Presidio. We recommend you stay in the Marina/Cow Hollow area (just east of the Presidio), where you will have easy access to restaurants and shops, as well as being less than a 10 minute taxi ride from the Presidio. You can also look at places just south of the Presidio in Presidio Heights, Laurel Heights or Pacific Heights, although some areas are a bit more residential so may require a bit more of a walk for your morning coffee.

House Rentals

AirBnB and VRBO both have a lot of great options if you are looking to rent a home or apartment. They’ll typically be more spacious and comfortable than hotel rooms, and possibly more affordable too. Use zip code 94123.

Recommended Hotel

Lombard Street is lined with dozens of motels. Most are typical roadside motels, but we have a favorite - Hotel Del Sol (3100 Webster St) – a funky, boutique motel. Click here for a 10% discount! Please make your reservation as soon as possible. Hotel Del Sol is part of the Joie De Vivre hotel group. It is in a great location, walkable to both Union Street and Chestnut Street, where you can find great bars, restaurants and shops. Also close by is Crissy Field where you can take in a jog and enjoy the water and views of the Golden Gate Bridge. If this doesn’t suit your needs, please use the many travel search engines to find something that strikes your fancy. Feel free to email us (danielle.and.eric.2016@gmail.com) if you have any question about where to stay.

Registry

Having all our closest friends and family in one place will be the best gift of all. If you would like to get us something, we are registered at Crate & Barrel and Amazon.com. With us merging homes into Danielle’s small apartment for now, we welcome gift cards to purchase all the great things on our registry once we are in a bigger space. We have focused first on adding those things we know we have space for and will start using immediately!

As an alternative, we will be heading to Spain on our honeymoon right after the wedding. If you would like to contribute to our adventures oversees visit Zola.com.
